Job Description

The Youth Worker will be responsible for implementing youth-related programs and services, working closely with the Youth Development Coordinator. This role will involve developing, planning, coordinating, and executing initiatives, camps, and services targeted at youth. Responsibilities include:

●      Assessing the program requirements of youth in the community.

●      Communicating with youth to determine their needs and interests.

●      Coordinating with organizations representing youth to assess their needs.

●      Overseeing and supporting volunteers in youth-related activities.

●      Ensuring a variety of sports, recreational, cultural, and other programs are implemented.

●      Identifying areas where new programs are needed.

●      Supervising and leading activities for youth.

●      Encouraging local youth to participate in regional and territorial programs.

●      Promoting youth programs through community relations campaigns.

●      Maintaining program equipment and ensuring the cleanliness and safety of facilities.

●      Being visible and available to address questions or issues related to youth programs.

Qualifications

●      Standard First Aid CPR ‘C’ Certification or ability to obtain before employment start date.

●      Experience and enjoyment working with youth, including various age groups.

●      Strong planning and organizational skills.

●      Ability to implement and oversee a variety of program activities.

●      Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sector screening required.

Additional Details

This is a full-time position for the summer camp program, with the possibility of extension into other programs or positions within the Muslim Wellness Network.
